v2.1.4

Oct 9, 2026v2.1.4 · Orty has a new home — getorty.work

Orty moved to https://getorty.work. Same app, same account: getorty.vercel.app and www.getorty.work now redirect to the new home. Support and general contact also moved to the new domain.

Changed

  • New canonical home — https://getorty.work. Everything (the app, login, checkout returns, the version check) now runs from the new domain.
  • getorty.vercel.app and www.getorty.work permanently redirect to getorty.work, so old links from Product Hunt, Whop, CodeHype, Hacker News and Reddit keep working.
  • New contact addresses — support@getorty.work for issues and help, hello@getorty.work for everything else (press, partnerships, affiliates).
  • Privacy, terms, refunds and cookies pages updated with the new contact details and domain; their 'last updated' dates reflect this release.

v2.1.3

Oct 7, 2026v2.1.3 · No key needed — managed AI and the Signal plan

The setup tax is gone. Orty now runs a managed GLM-5.3-Flash engine, so no API key is needed — open the app and score a prospect. If you'd rather use your own provider, the new $5 Signal plan brings it.

Added

  • Managed AI engine — Orty now runs GLM-5.3-Flash for you. No API key to paste or configure: ratings, Scout, and Co-Pilot work the moment you log in.
  • Signal — a $5/mo plan ($50/yr) for people who'd rather bring their own AI key. Every feature unlimited; you pay your provider directly and Orty never marks up usage.
  • Pro Annual — $179/yr, the same Pro (1,000 credits a month) for people who prefer to pay once a year.
  • Unified credits — your free-tier allowance, Signal, and Pro now draw from one balance, so it's always clear what's left and when an upgrade is worth it.

Changed

  • Pro stays $19.99/mo, now with an annual option. It still runs the AI for you: 1,000 credits a month for ratings, batch triage, long-form video audits, in-app email sending, and AI profile generation.
  • Pricing page, FAQ, and metadata updated for the managed-AI story: no BYOK required to start, with Signal for anyone who prefers their own key.

v2.1.2

Sep 20, 2026v2.1.2 · Orty Scout — find clients, not just rate them

Orty Scout answers the step before every lead: “I need clients. Where do I find them, and which ones are worth pursuing?” It's now the first thing you see at /Scout — a client hunting assistant that produces Search Strategies (places, queries, filters, signals), never invented leads.

Added

  • Orty Scout — a client discovery & hunting assistant, now the landing tab at /Scout and the top of the sidebar. Define what you sell and who you want to reach; Scout builds a complete Client Hunting Strategy.
  • Best places to search — platform recommendations tailored to your service and ideal client, each explaining why to search there, what prospects to look for, what signals matter, and what to type.
  • Platform-specific hunting recipes for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Google (with operators), Reddit, X, and communities/directories — with search phrases, filters, the recommended service opportunity, and an outreach angle.
  • Search Query Generator — a small number of high-quality, copy-paste searches per platform with one-click Copy and Search.
  • Opportunity signals (“why this lead?”) plus negative signals, so you eliminate bad leads instead of collecting them.
  • Preliminary Opportunity Score — a fast 0–100 triage with Fit / Need Signal / Budget Potential / Activity / Outreach Opportunity, a plain-English why, and an Analyze with Orty handoff into the full report.
  • Fast lead capture — paste a URL, profile text, or a copied search result; Capture + add to CRM pushes it into your pipeline.
  • Search refinement loop (Too Broad, Too Narrow, Better Searches, Another Angle, Change Platform, Refine ICP) and saved ICP profiles.
  • Noise protection — if a search is too broad, Scout says so and tells you how to narrow it.

Changed

  • /Scout is now the default landing view after login (it was Rate). Rate, Batch, Log, Co-Pilot, Today and the rest are unchanged and one click away.
  • Scout runs on Groq (your key, or Orty's server key on the web app) and degrades to a built-in strategy engine when no key is available.

Known issues

  • Scout produces search strategies only. It does not yet pull live prospects from external data sources — those integrations are layered for future releases and never scrape or invent leads today.

v2.1.1

Sep 18, 2026v2.1.1 · the Today command center + a full UI redesign

Orty answers “who should I contact next, and why?” with a new Today command center, and gets a complete shadcn/ui redesign — buttons, tabs, forms, dialogs, toasts, tables — on a cleaner Orty palette.

Added

  • Today — a command center that builds a prioritized action queue from your own CRM: Reach out next (high-opportunity leads you haven't contacted), Replies waiting (they answered, your move), and Follow-ups due. Plus a thin pipeline-health strip (sent, reply rate, booking rate), your daily quota, and this week's goal progress. Pure stats over your entries — no AI calls.
  • Confidence level on every report — Low/Medium/High, derived from evidence quality (how much the provided input actually supports the conclusions), not the length of the input.

Changed

  • Full shadcn/ui redesign of the app: buttons, tabs, inputs, selects, checkboxes, switches, cards, dialogs, dropdowns, toasts, badges, tables, progress and more, on a shadcn-style token layer. Coral is now an accent; success stays teal; near-white is the default high-emphasis button.
  • The Orty plane mark now sits beside the wordmark in the sidebar; the sidebar keeps its structure with subtle hover/active polish.
  • Mobile readability pass across the report and forms (larger text, chips, and touch targets).

Fixed

  • The Chat/Email provider selects no longer clip or tile their arrow.
  • The Settings panel is correctly centered again.
  • A legacy tab selector that threw on the Batch empty state, and the Profile-tab jump after profile generation.

v2.1-web

Sep 17, 2026v2.1-web · the Client Opportunity Report

Orty now answers one question: is this client worth my time, and why? The score becomes a 0–100 Client Opportunity with a confidence level and a full qualification report — and dollar-budget predictions are gone.

Added

  • Client Opportunity Report — a 0–100 score, a Low/Medium/High confidence level, and Commercial-signal / Need / Fit ratings, plus why to contact, the potential need, the best approach, a recommended outreach angle, an Evidence section, and an explicit Why-not.
  • Evidence discipline — important conclusions are tied to what was actually in the input; where it isn't supported, Orty says “Unknown” / “Not enough evidence” instead of inventing a fact.
  • Optional “what makes a client a bad fit” question in the profile builder, so scoring judges fit against your own criteria.

Changed

  • Removed estimated budget bands and dollar-range budget predictions. Budget potential is replaced by evidence-based commercial signals (sponsorships, products, hiring, publishing cadence, visible monetization).
  • The headline score is now the 0–100 Client Opportunity; the internal 1–10 score still drives bands and existing CRM data.
  • The outreach email is generated as a consequence of the research — it follows the report's why-contact and outreach angle rather than a generic name-and-niche template.
  • Mobile readability pass on the Rate report and form: larger report text, chips, and touch targets.

v2.1-web

Sep 15, 2026v2.1-web · opportunity scoring, freelancer types & discovery

Orty widens from editors to freelancers while making money-potential the core score: a Client Opportunity Score with budget bands, discipline-aware profiles and outreach, and a no-scraping Discovery Brief.

Added

  • Client Opportunity Score — an overall 0–100 score with Budget, Need, and Fit ratings, the positive/negative signals behind them, and a concrete estimated budget band ($0–100 to $2000+).
  • Freelancer types — pick your discipline (video editor, motion or graphic designer, web developer, copywriter, social media manager, photographer, UI/UX designer, marketer, SEO freelancer, media buyer, AI/automation, consultant, coach, or agency). Scoring, the profile builder, and outreach adapt to it. Video editors stay the default.
  • Score any source — paste a Reddit hiring post, a job listing, a LinkedIn/X profile, or a company website, not just a profile screenshot.
  • Discovery Brief (Co-Pilot) — where to look, 10 copy-paste search queries, and a discipline-tuned scoring checklist. Places, not people: no scraping, no auto-messaging.
  • Post-analysis feedback — “Was this score accurate?” with a corrected score and budget band. Corrections feed your rubric insights.
  • Onboarding rebuilt in the right order: connect your AI, pick your discipline, run a first analysis, then enter the app.

Changed

  • Every in-app upgrade button now goes through a pinned Whop checkout that returns straight into the app — no more landing on a Whop receipt page.
  • Promo code system removed. Whop is the single source for payments, access, subscriptions, and Pro status.
  • Guided Profile Builder questions adapt to your discipline, so web developers and copywriters are no longer asked editor-only questions.
  • Outreach drafting enforces a human structure — specific observation, possible problem, concrete value, low-friction CTA — and bans generic openers.

Fixed

  • Web ratings now use your saved profile (previously they used the shared starter profile).
  • Long-form history no longer shows “Untitled” for every past audit.
  • Removed unreachable route code and a duplicate route registration.

Known issues

  • Score feedback stores per account once the rating_feedback table migration is applied.
  • Rate card and multi-portfolio are still shared-file on the web app and are being moved to per-account storage.

v2.0-web

Sep 13, 2026v2.0-web · deployment update & web SaaS transition

Web SaaS pivot verified: promo code box disabled pending backend route, verified design tokens, and messaging accuracy sweep.

Added

  • Web SaaS transition complete across hero, pricing, FAQ, and terms — browser-first usage with Whop OAuth and $19.99/mo subscription.

Changed

  • Messaging sweep: replaced imprecise timing claims with qualitative outcome-focused guidance.
  • Legacy Windows installer support confirmed through October 1, 2026 for existing buyers.

Fixed

  • Promo code redemption box in onboarding wizard disabled pending /api/promo/redeem backend route.

v2.0-web

Sep 6, 2026v2.0-web · login, checkout & engine refinements

v2.0-web keeps moving: branded in-app login, embedded checkout, per-tab deep links, and a Gemini 3.8 Flash engine — plus a round of UI polish.

Added

  • Branded in-app sign-in page powered by Whop OAuth — login happens inside Orty, not on a redirect page.
  • Whop's embedded checkout directly on the pricing page — subscribe without leaving the app.
  • Per-tab deep links — every tab has a real URL (/app/rate, /app/copilot, /app/profile) that is shareable and bookmarkable.
  • Wins & Case Studies quick-add panel alongside the Guided Profile Builder.

Changed

  • Rating engine upgraded to Gemini 3.8 Flash with automatic 3.7 → 3.6 fallback.
  • Drafted emails now include subject lines.
  • Guided Profile Builder rebuilt around 12 questions that output portfolio + rating rules + email rules.
  • Landing hero swaps a 28 MB video for a live WebGL shader; the features section is now an interactive orbit.

Fixed

  • Sidebar expand button no longer covers the Orty logo.
  • Loading/status glyphs normalized to inline SVG icons.
  • Modals no longer close on outside click and no longer scroll the page behind them.
  • Demo attachment thumbnail glyph fixed.

v2.0-web

Sep 1, 2026

Web SaaS launch — Orty moves from Windows .exe to getorty.work (Cloud Run europe-west1) with Whop OAuth $19.99/mo. Same AI, now on any device.

Added

  • Web app at getorty.work proxied to Cloud Run europe-west1 (https://orty-web-361192565956.europe-west1.run.app) via vercel.json /api + /auth rewrites — no download, works on Mac/Windows/mobile.
  • Whop OAuth login (PKCE S256) — GET /auth/whop/login -> whop.com/oauth -> GET /auth/whop/callback, session whop_user_id + is_pro, 7-day grace via membership check for prod_wBSzJmZU1f1sV $19.99/mo.
  • Warm Stone Atelier design system — warm bone #fafaf9 canvas, paper white #ffffff cards, stone mist #e7e5e4 hairlines, electric indigo #615fff primary CTA, sunshine #ffda6e rationed, app now looks like site (v1.12 beta/static/style.css unified).
  • Supabase per-account storage — leads, usage, copilot_sessions, profiles synced per whop_user_id (RLS) + local cache; BYOK per request never stored long-term (was plaintext groq_api_key.txt/api_key.txt).
  • Desktop .exe v1.20.2 remains available for 30 days until Oct 1, 2026 during transition — one-time $29 buyers keep access.

Changed

  • Pricing: Pro $29 one-time -> $19.99/mo subscription via Whop (prod_wBSzJmZU1f1sV renews every 30 days), Free 5/day kept, cancel anytime via Whop. Site copy, seo SoftwareApplication operatingSystem Windows -> Web, trust/FAQ/privacy rewritten for account-scoped storage.
  • Hosting: pywebview + PyInstaller + 127.0.0.1:5000 + heartbeat watchdog -> gunicorn on Cloud Run 0.0.0.0:$PORT, Dockerfile + gunicorn 26.2.0, ffmpeg for yt-dlp, .gcloudignore allows profiles/data/changelog.
  • CRM: data/clients_log.csv + sessions/*.json + .session_state + profiles/*.txt file storage -> Supabase + IndexedDB mirror (see supabase/web_migration_whop.sql).

Fixed

  • Cloud Run IAM storage.admin granted to compute service account (was PERMISSION_DENIED on first deploy).
  • Whop Orty Pro product headline/description updated from one-time Local-first to web $19.99/mo subscription.

v1.20.2

Aug 27, 2026

Guided Profile Builder — a blank box becomes an 8-step questionnaire. Answers become structured JSON sent to Gemini; empty achievements are never invented. Review, tone-switch, and copy locally.

Added

  • Guided Profile Builder — 8-step flow (specialty, editing style, experience, software, strengths, clients, achievements, extra) with single/multi-select buttons and Other fields, replacing the empty text area.
  • Structured generation via Gemini 3.6 Flash — answers become JSON (specialty, editing_style, experience, software, strengths, clients, achievements, extra) passed directly to the model. Empty achievements are never fabricated.
  • Rewritten prompt generates Professional bio, About Me, and Client-facing description — natural, concise, buzzword-free, client-focused. editing_style and achievements are integrated only when provided.
  • Review step with summary of all answers, inline Edit per row (jumps back preserving answers and progress), and a non-blocking Profile strength 0–100% bar plus an Add achievements warning when needed.
  • Achievements helpers — examples like Edited 100+ videos / Worked with YouTube creators / Improved retention, plus the note You can skip this if you don't have achievements yet. We never invent achievements.
  • Tone switching — Professional, Friendly, Confident, Creative, Premium Agency with inline tiny descs (LinkedIn…, Personal creator brand…, etc.) that regenerates with the same answers.
  • Copy options — Copy, Copy as Markdown, Copy as Plain Text per section and for the whole profile.
  • Local persistence — answers and review state in orty_profile_answers_v1 and last result in orty_generated_profile_v1 (Your last generated profile → View/Regenerate), restored on reopen with no cloud or DB.
  • Improve Existing Profile — paste any profile for clarity, positioning, and professionalism improvements without changing niche, now also via Gemini.
  • Loading states with timed progress messages (Understanding your experience → Identifying your strengths → Writing profile → Polishing final version) and an empty state that shows an example before generation and the last saved profile after.

Changed

  • AI provider separation clarified — Gemini (gemini-3.6-flash) now powers Profile Builder, legacy profile generation, screenshot/video analysis, and core Orty AI; Groq (text_agent.py) powers Co-Pilot only.
  • Builder UI and polish ship in both Free and Pro; generation remains gated by ai_profile_gen (403 pro_required in Free).

v1.20.1

Aug 25, 2026

Security, privacy-preserving licensing & stability. Pro becomes a real, verified tier: activate once with your license key, keep your anonymity, and every Pro feature gets enforced server-side — not just hidden in the UI.

Added

  • Real Pro verification — Batch, Long Form video audits, in-app email sending, AI profile generation, and multiple portfolios now require an activated license key (Settings → Orty Pro). Verification runs through Orty's license server; the app never touches the database directly.
  • Privacy-first activation — activating sends ONLY your license key and an anonymous SHA-256 device hash. No username, email, machine serials, or user content ever leaves your machine.
  • One license = one device, with a 7-day offline grace period. After grace expires without a successful re-check, Pro features fail closed while Free features keep working.
  • Usage quotas lift automatically once Pro verifies — the 5/day rating cap and Co-Pilot cap no longer apply.

Changed

  • Server-side feature gates added to batch rating, video analysis, email sending, profile generation, and portfolio creation (Free is capped at 1 portfolio server-side) — these were previously locked only in the UI.
  • Every launch generates a random localhost request token required on all POST/PUT/DELETE requests, blocking drive-by requests from malicious webpages against the local API (e.g., forced reset or shutdown).
  • Workspace export sanitization — Resend API keys, SMTP passwords, and inline AI chat keys are stripped from exported backup zips.
  • Frontend fail-closed — if tier status can't be read, the UI assumes Free instead of Pro.

Fixed

  • Unified the version number to 1.20.1 across the app, installer, executable metadata, docs, and buyer assets.
  • Fixed a version-compare bug that could silently disable the update badge.

v1.20-beta

Aug 19, 2026

Stability hotfix plus Outreach Diagnostics: a release about trusting the tool — loading states that can't hang forever, errors that always arrive as errors, and a panel that tells you why outreach stalls.

Added

  • Outreach Diagnostics — a “What's Holding You Back?” panel reads your CRM and flags High Score / Low Reply, Ghosting (>3 in 30d), Pitch Fatigue (>10 sends/48h with 0 replies), and Niche Mismatch. Pure Python, zero AI calls, zero cloud — max 3 actionable insights per session.
  • Interactive Walkthrough — first-run step-by-step guide (Rate → Score → Email → Goals) for fresh installs with no leads. Auto-triggers the Demo Creator when no API keys are present. Escape skips it, completion is persisted.

Changed

  • Version renumbered 1.2-beta → 1.20-beta for correct semantic-version ordering (1.20 > 1.12) so existing v1.12 users are correctly prompted to update.

Fixed

  • Co-Pilot counter now shows the correct 5/5 session limit (was hardcoded 3/3); welcome-screen text updates dynamically and resets every 24 hours — not on restart.
  • Infinite loading spinners eliminated — every loading state auto-cancels after an 8-second safety timeout across Rate, Batch, Log, and Self-Healing tabs.
  • Nav bar overflow fixed — the 9-tab strip is now a scroll container so all tabs stay reachable on narrow viewports without Shift+Scroll.
  • Privacy footer corrected to read “Opt-in telemetry”, matching the shipped opt-in telemetry system (previously said “No telemetry”).
  • “Unexpected token '<'” JSON errors eliminated — explicit handlers for HTTP error codes plus a guaranteed-JSON catch-all mean no API route can return an HTML error page to a fetch().json() call.

v1.1 – v1.19

Earlier beta releases built the core: Rate/Batch/Log tabs with Gemini scoring and Groq drafting, the glassmorphic UI pass, portfolio switching, and the Groq model swap (v1.1–v1.12). v1.2-beta brought the workflow-intelligence layer — Personal Insights dashboard, Demo Creator, the 7-stage CRM pipeline with schema migration, workspace export/import, weekly goals, better empty states, and the anti-hallucination email fix. Detailed notes for those builds lived in the installer changelog and are being consolidated here over time.
